This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.
• Take ownership of enterprise integration patterns and technical standards throughout the application portfolio.
• Make architectural decisions that encompass D365, Workday, ServiceNow, Box, M365, and related systems.
• Develop standards for application construction, integration, and support.
• Implement a configure-before-develop standard and offer architectural guidance on solution requests and platform modifications.
• Document the boundaries of integration and architecture.
• Manage the integration layer, focusing on patterns, tools, and standards for maintainability and observability.
• Establish the technical direction for custom application development.
• Collaborate with platform owners to design integrations that align with the portfolio.
• Lead and oversee the integration and custom applications, Drupal, and Azure platform engineering teams.
• Prioritize tasks, manage workloads, develop team leads and engineers, and oversee the team budget.
• Assist in the recruitment of technical personnel.
• Coordinate architecture and integration boundaries with AI, engineering, enterprise applications, data, GIS, infrastructure, and digital workplace teams.
• Maintain documentation on architectural decisions, integration patterns, and technical standards.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, data privacy regulations, and governance frameworks.
• Establish principles of enterprise architecture, review processes, and decision rights across the portfolio.
• Identify architectural risks and technical debt.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, enterprise applications, or architecture roles.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role managing a team.
• Proven experience in setting architectural direction and technical standards within an enterprise setting.
• Capability to translate organizational needs into integration patterns and architectural decisions.
• History of managing technology-related budgets.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, API management, and integration tools.
• Strong familiarity with D365 F&O, Workday, ServiceNow, M365, and Box.
• Experience in owning technical standards and ensuring accountability among delivery teams.
• Proficiency in assessing build-versus-configure trade-offs.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing governance for enterprise architecture, review processes, and architecture decision rights.
• Practical experience in application development and integration delivery.
• Experience in leading custom application and web teams; familiarity with Drupal is a plus.
• Ability to design integrations, review code, and troubleshoot issues directly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: experience in IT within the nonprofit, international development, or humanitarian sectors.
• Preferred: experience coordinating architecture boundaries between infrastructure and application teams.
• Preferred: familiarity with API management platforms such as Azure APIM or Apigee.
• Preferred: knowledge of event-driven and messaging architectures like Azure Service Bus or Kafka.
• Preferred: experience with cloud-native integration tools such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or iPaaS solutions.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with serverless and microservices development.
