Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Articulate and disseminate the long-term architectural vision for the Cordant platform.

• Convert business strategies into scalable technical roadmaps in collaboration with Product Management and Engineering leadership.

• Ensure architectural consistency across applications, shared platform services, developer platforms, data platforms, and AI functionalities.

• Steer the architectural progression towards a composable, API-first platform.

• Set architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks.

• Outline reusable platform capabilities to enhance scalability, security, maintainability, and developer productivity.

• Oversee the modernization of existing products and facilitate the development of future platform capacities.

• Direct architecture across distributed systems encompassing industrial edge, enterprise environments, and cloud-native platforms.

• Specify deployment architectures for customer-managed on-premises setups, customer cloud infrastructures, and Baker Hughes SaaS.

• Formulate integration strategies that span OT, enterprise IT, industrial devices, partner ecosystems, and business applications.

• Establish a long-term architecture for the Cordant Data & Analytics Platform and Agentic AI.

• Define methodologies for operational data management, contextualization, semantic models, analytics, and enterprise intelligence.

• Design secure architectural patterns for intelligent software agents and integrations with enterprise applications and industrial systems.

• Implement trustworthy, explainable, observable, secure, and Responsible AI governance.

• Empower engineering teams with reusable AI platform services, SDKs, developer tools, and architectural support.

• Assess emerging AI technologies and industry standards.

• Mentor architects and senior engineers while fostering an architecture community.

• Lead architecture reviews and facilitate technical decision-making processes.

• Impact technology investment choices through architectural strategy and thought leadership.

• Encourage collaboration among engineering, product, UX, security, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing teams.

• Advocate for technical excellence, continuous learning, and engineering craftsmanship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

• At least 4 years of experience in architecting large-scale enterprise software platforms.

• Proven success in leading architecture across various engineering teams and product domains.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and API-first platforms.

• Experience in developing enterprise architecture strategies that align with business goals.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business leaders.

• Proficient in cloud-native architecture, microservices, event-driven systems, Domain-Driven Design, API-first platforms, Kubernetes, container orchestration, Platform Engineering, and Developer Experience.

• Knowledge of enterprise data platforms, Data Lakehouse architectures, streaming platforms, AI/ML platforms, Agentic AI architectures, LLMs, MCP, RAG, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, AI observability, evaluation, and Responsible AI governance.

• Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, edge computing, Industrial IoT, enterprise integration, and identity and security architecture.

• Valid work authorization in the country of employment; Baker Hughes cannot sponsor work authorization.
