This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise and lead multiple software engineering teams, ensuring their efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
• Offer guidance and career advancement opportunities to engineering managers and senior engineers, aiding their leadership development.
• Spearhead the recruitment, hiring, and retention of top engineering talent to build high-performing, diverse teams that work collaboratively.
• Cultivate an environment where teams take pride and ownership in their products and Rithum overall. Create and sustain a positive, inclusive, and innovative engineering culture that reflects company values and fosters teamwork, diversity, and collaboration.
• Promote a proactive attitude towards responsibility (identifying issues before they reach the client), and instill a sense of ownership and urgency in swiftly resolving client-related production issues. Build a culture where individuals not only highlight problems but also contribute to the solutions.
• Formulate and articulate the long-term technical vision and strategy that aligns with the business objectives of the company. Collaborate with C-level executives to translate business requirements into actionable engineering plans.
• Partner with product management to develop and prioritize the engineering roadmap, ensuring effective resource allocation to meet project deadlines and business objectives.
• Plan and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources while balancing project demands and cost limitations.
• Ensure that your team is educated, aware of, and adheres to Rithum's software development processes and standards, including Scrum agile development, automated testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service-oriented architecture initiatives.
• Continuously evaluate and refine development processes to enhance efficiency, minimize bottlenecks, and improve collaboration between engineering and other teams.
• Supervise the design and development of sophisticated software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers and meet stringent fault tolerance standards.
• Regularly update the executive team on progress, technical challenges, and project results, providing insights that inform broader business strategies.
• Ensure alignment among all stakeholders, including product, operations, and business leaders, regarding technical initiatives and effectively manage expectations.
• Engage with key clients, partners, and external stakeholders as needed, offering technical insights and ensuring the seamless delivery of software products.
• Over 10 years of experience in software development within the SaaS industry.
• Experience with AWS data services.
• Strong SQL skills at scale with columnar/analytical query engines (Redshift, BigQuery, or similar).
• Proficiency in data warehouse design and ETL/ELT pipeline architecture.
• Familiarity with data lake patterns.
• Understanding of streaming or near-real-time data patterns (Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated accountability for data quality, governance, and schema management.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining engaged, high-performing software development teams.
• Experience managing the complete software development lifecycle of SaaS applications at scale.
• Evidence of successfully navigating a fast-paced, dynamic industry (such as e-commerce) and delivering products that capture market share.
• Experience utilizing AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) to enhance and expedite outcomes, including but not limited to communication drafting, data analysis, prompt engineering, and documentation.
• Exceptional proficiency in written and spoken English.
