Director, DoD Military Family & Benefits

Posted Jun 21

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Take ownership of the complete business development pipeline for DHA, MC&FP, Army IMCOM, MEDCOM, and warfighter family support agencies. Foster relationships, oversee the pipeline, and pinpoint the right opportunities prior to solicitation.

β€’ Discover, nurture, and finalize teaming arrangements with mid and large prime contractors focused on software modernization efforts within the military health and family benefits sector. Focus on partners requiring modern Human-Centered Design (HCD) and AI-enabled delivery capabilities.

β€’ Activate Initial Six and Theta Six Joint Venture partnerships for 8(a) task order pursuits with DHA and DMDC. Collaborate directly with JV partners to identify and secure the first Department of Defense task orders with Agile Six as the designated delivery subcontractor.

β€’ Collaborate closely with delivery leadership to ensure every teaming arrangement and pursuit is rooted in our execution capabilities. Our methodology is our unique selling point; ensure it is upheld in deal structuring.

β€’ Favor Fixed Firm Price (FFP) subcontract arrangements that maintain team autonomy, reflecting our cultural non-negotiable and influencing our compensation structure.

β€’ Represent Agile Six at DHITS, HIMSS Federal, and various DoD health and military family program conferences. Ensure visibility in spaces where DHA, DMDC, and MC&FP program managers seek to learn and network.

β€’ Act as the primary source of intelligence for Agile Six regarding the DHA and IMCOM procurement landscape, upcoming opportunities, and competitor positioning. Provide insights that inform strategy rather than mere reports that remain unutilized.

β€’ Credibly represent Agile Six's applied AI capabilities in discussions with program offices and partners. Actively utilize AI tools in your own business development practice, including market research, pipeline analysis, and competitive intelligence.

β€’ Oversee and manage the DoD business development pipeline in Groundwork, our internal CRM, with the discipline and transparency expected across the Market Development team.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Over 8 years of experience in business development, capture, or program management within DoD digital health, military family, or benefits sectors. A background in generalist business development will not suffice.

β€’ Established, current relationships within DHA J-6, DMDC, MC&FP, Army IMCOM, or MEDCOM program offices, focusing on active connections rather than historical or aspirational links.

β€’ Direct involvement in a mid or large prime's business development or capture functions, or experience as a government program manager with firsthand prime relationships. Must be capable of entering a capture discussion at a mid-tier prime and gaining respect due to familiarity with programs, personnel, and the procurement landscape.

β€’ Proven track record of effectively executing teaming arrangements, beyond merely building a pipeline.

β€’ Proficiency in Government Contracting (GovCon) business development processes: PTW analysis, gate reviews, capture strategy, and teaming agreements.

β€’ In-depth knowledge of the targeted programs: milConnect, MHS GENESIS, MySECO, DHA CDAO initiatives, caregiver and survivor benefits. You should be well-versed in these areas without needing an introduction.

β€’ Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, focused on building rather than maintaining.
