• Accountable for guiding and strategizing the implementation and maintenance of information security controls.
• Oversee the assessment, deployment, and management of existing and future security technologies.
• Effectively communicate operational efficiency to leadership.
• Create and uphold an information security program that incorporates processes and controls to safeguard business interests.
• Stay updated on federal and state laws and regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
• Define and convey corporate plans, procedures, policies, and standards concerning systems, equipment, software, and other technologies.
• Ensure that security requirements are integrated during the evaluation, selection, implementation, and configuration of information technology (hardware, software, applications).
• Responsible for managing security, including software and tools.
• Suggest modifications or enhancements as needed to implement improvements, address issues, or enhance operational efficiency/security posture.
• Oversee the security awareness and training program to fulfill compliance requirements and mitigate risk in assigned areas (e.g., Cyber Security, Identity and Access Management, etc.).
• Coordinate and manage vendor relationships and ensure accountability for project involvement and deliverables.
• Manage IT security threats and vulnerabilities to maintain acceptable risk levels.
• Assist in formulating remediation plans for newly identified threats and vulnerabilities.
• Oversee communication and reporting of new threats and vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Publish metrics related to the operational effectiveness of information security controls.
• Responsible for leading, developing, and coaching direct reports; in conjunction with HR, conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions.
• Hire and train new personnel, conduct performance assessments, handle disciplinary measures, and provide leadership and coaching for direct reports, including technical and personal development.
• Cultivate relationship management through effective communication with key stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
• A Bachelor of Science/Arts degree or equivalent work experience is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree or JD is preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of IT-related experience, ideally in a medium to large technical operating environment, including five (5) years in the designated specialty (e.g., Cyber Security, Identity and Access Management, etc.).
• At least five (5) years of leadership experience in information security or IT risk management is essential.
