Director – Cyber Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee multidisciplinary teams in cyber threat intelligence, SOC, incident response, and detection engineering across the APAC region.

• Serve as the Incident Commander during significant incidents.

• Supervise daily operations, manage workloads, uphold service levels, and handle scheduling.

• Mentor team members while facilitating their technical and career development.

• Communicate risks and insights to executives and business partners.

• Track KPIs and metrics to enhance processes and align with business objectives.

• Establish quarterly goals, allocate resources, and prioritize based on the APAC threat environment.

• Work collaboratively with security and business units on tools, integrations, and initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally, 8+ years of experience in the cybersecurity field.

• At least 5 years in a leadership role.

• A combination of experience, education, and certifications may be taken into account.

• Experience in SOC operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and/or detection engineering is essential.

• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR, NDR, cloud environments, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.

• Capacity to make decisive, confident choices and elucidate complex issues under pressure.

• Ability to align technical priorities with business objectives and drive quantifiable results.

• A degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
