Director, Contracts Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, evaluate, negotiate, and oversee a diverse array of agreements that support all facets of the organization, such as master services agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, clinical trial agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, along with other commercial and operational contracts.

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to structure transactions, evaluate legal and business risks, and enable successful business outcomes.

• Address contractual disputes and assist in the management of legal issues related to contracts.

• Foster ongoing enhancements of contracting processes, templates, policies, and contract management systems to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.

• Liaise with outside counsel and other external advisors as necessary.

• Assist with additional legal, compliance, corporate, and strategic initiatives within the Legal Department as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical sector and/or equivalent experience in a law firm.

• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial, clinical, and operational agreements.

• Exceptional written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Creative thinking abilities to address new challenges and explore innovative solutions to existing problems.

• Practical, clear, and organized in approach.

• Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and apply sound business judgment complemented by critical thinking skills and high ethical standards.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.

• A collaborative team player with a proactive, positive demeanor and the ability to operate effectively with a significant degree of independence.

• Ability to carry out tasks with minimal guidance or need for supervisory follow-up.
