This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Act as the Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations leader for Hoonah Travel Adventures, Icy Strait Adventures, Portage Glacier Cruises, and other direct-to-consumer businesses.
• Create marketing and communication strategies, materials, and messaging customized for each business's target audience and objectives.
• Handle media relations and press opportunities for consumer-focused businesses.
• Collaborate with leadership across various business segments to maintain a consistent brand voice and effective promotion.
• Generate leads and bookings through focused marketing campaigns and initiatives.
• Supervise HunaTek's marketing and communications activities.
• Identify opportunities to showcase HunaTek's value and capabilities.
• Develop and implement marketing materials, communications, and messaging tailored for the government contracting sector.
• Manage public relations and media opportunities pertinent to government contracting.
• Convert business priorities into impactful communications and marketing initiatives.
• Formulate internal and shareholder communication strategies.
• Lead shareholder communications in collaboration with the Shareholder Relations team.
• Oversee the annual report and monthly newsletter, from content planning to final production.
• Organize and execute company Town Halls and events, including messaging, materials, and logistics.
• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, ideally encompassing both internal and external roles.
• Proven experience in managing media relations or public relations.
• Familiarity with or a willingness to understand the government contracting communications landscape.
• Experience with Alaska Native Corporations, tribal, or Indigenous-owned businesses is advantageous.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for employees, shareholders, customers, government stakeholders, and media.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as business demands require.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Travel is required.
