Director, Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of our bonus and long-term incentive programs, ensuring alignment between individual and company performance with outcomes that are clear, motivating, and reflective of how the business generates value.

• Manage equity design as a strategic component – create equity programs aimed at attracting and retaining top talent, fostering performance differentiation, enhancing understanding, and collaborating with Finance and Legal on program mechanics, dilution modeling, and board approvals.

• Provide the necessary tools and resources for our talent acquisition team to craft the most competitive offers, assist BP teams in partnering with their business leaders, and equip leaders, managers, and employees with a thorough understanding of compensation rhythms, cadences, and budgets throughout the year.

• Establish the framework that allows the compensation team to operate efficiently, enabling partner teams that require compensation inputs for offers, internal transitions, or new roles.

• Collaborate with talent management to align pay with performance, ensuring that leaders, managers, and employees have a comprehensive understanding of their compensation outcomes.

• Stay ahead of market trends by utilizing real-time data and fostering peer relationships, observing how AI, pay transparency legislation, and workforce dynamics are reshaping the landscape before they influence offers or attrition.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of relevant experience in designing and building global compensation frameworks across various markets (North America, EMEA, etc.).

• Experience or exposure to high-growth businesses.

• Knowledge of a wide array of tools and technologies that enhance work efficiency and yield optimal outcomes.

• Capacity to balance strategic initiatives with tactical daily responsibilities.

• Proficient in complex problem-solving.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Advanced modeling capabilities.

• Exceptional communication skills, with a keen focus on detail.

• Comfortable engaging with leadership at all levels (including Board level).

• Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt quickly, and work autonomously.

• Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders at every level.

• Proven experience in building, designing, and managing global compensation and equity programs.

• Demonstrated capability to think creatively, strategically, and operationally, underpinned by strong analytical skills.
