This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the entire collections lifecycle, from proactive measures before delinquency to early-stage outreach, escalation of treatment strategies, charge-offs, and recovery efforts post-charge-off.
• Lead a team of collections and recovery agents to implement strategies across various lending products while establishing rules and controls for effective balance recovery.
• Stay updated on changing provincial regulations and ensure that operational processes remain compliant.
• Manage performance metrics including roll rates, net recovery rate, cost to collect, days sales outstanding (DSO), and promise-to-pay rates.
• Define the operational requirements for AI-driven collections tools and implement a digital-first strategy for collections channels.
• Oversee relationships with third-party collection agencies from start to finish.
• 8+ years of experience in collections, credit risk, or loan servicing, with a strong background in unsecured consumer lending (such as credit cards, personal loans, or lines of credit).
• Experience working in regulated sectors (banking, fintech, financial services) with an understanding of the relationship between collections strategy, compliance, and risk governance.
• Proficient in key metrics; utilize data to monitor operational efficiency, enhance agent performance, and advocate for necessary changes.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing operational teams.
• Familiarity with managing third-party collection agencies, including ensuring compliance, holding them accountable for performance, and conducting commercial negotiations.
• Passionate about the potential of AI and automation in the collections process.
