This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Develop and implement the BI strategy, transforming the organization from reactive reporting to a proactive, 'intelligence-first' approach that fosters quicker and improved business decisions.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Customer Experience, Trust & Safety, Marketing, and Product to ensure the BI roadmap aligns with global objectives.
• Establish and execute enterprise KPIs and executive-level dashboards to guarantee consistent evaluation of business performance and accountability.
• Manage the development of our modern cloud data stack, ensuring it is optimized for high-performance querying, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and reliability.
• Integrate enterprise data models throughout the organization to eliminate fragmented silos and provide a single, governed, and trustworthy 'Source of Truth.'
• Retain responsibility for data cataloging, quality, and governance standards while ensuring BI platforms and data assets adhere to security, privacy, and regulatory requirements across various regions.
• Set high standards for data quality, observability, and reliability to foster enduring trust in analytics and reporting.
• Manage vendor relationships and the BI budget, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership and Databricks compute efficiency.
• Supervise and ensure the prompt delivery of month-end data while implementing automation to enhance processes and improve long-term efficiency.
• Advocate for the application of AI and advanced analytics to automate insights, improve forecasting, and generate proactive recommendations for the business.
• Spearhead the transition to modern BI tools, enabling teams to explore data independently while maintaining governance.
• Drive organizational change management and data literacy initiatives to promote the adoption of self-service BI and analytics throughout the business.
• Lead and mentor a global team of engineers and analysts, shifting the function from manual data processing to high-value strategic innovation.
• Proficient in leading distributed, high-performing teams through organizational transformations, platform migrations, and tool modernizations while nurturing a culture of collaboration, data literacy, and innovation.
• Demonstrated experience in leading global BI functions within technology firms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern data stacks, particularly Databricks.
• Proven experience guiding teams through organizational changes, platform migrations, and tool retirements.
• Exceptional capacity to convey complex data infrastructure concepts as clear business value for non-technical senior leadership.
• Experience managing remote/distributed teams across various time zones.
• Degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science) or equivalent professional background.
