This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Develop and implement an enterprise-level business development strategy, identifying the necessary steps for execution across various business areas, market segments, and global regions.
• Hold responsibility for one or more components of a division, program, or function at a group level or a key focus area in business development, which includes strategic accounts, market segments, or capability portfolios.
• Create strategic and tactical business development plans for the functions or areas under your purview, informed by corporate strategy, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.
• Make critical strategic decisions regarding pursuit strategies, resource allocation, and market positioning that will have both short-term and long-term impacts on business development performance.
• Provide leadership and direction to subordinate managers responsible for the successful operation of assigned business development areas and major client relationships.
• Ensure accountability for achieving financial plans, goals, and timelines for business development activities, with a consistent focus on value creation, win rates, and return on business development investments.
• Exemplify company culture and strong leadership; act as a catalyst for transformative change in business development practices, systems, and organizational capabilities.
• Propel enterprise-level business development initiatives that align with corporate strategic goals and position the organization for enduring competitive advantage.
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships and alliances that create substantial business opportunities and market access across various segments.
• Lead the development of innovative business models and methods to capture new markets or expand existing ones, including adjacent market strategies and capability enhancement.
• Guide cross-functional teams in identifying and pursuing major business opportunities that necessitate enterprise-wide coordination and executive support.
• Engage with internal and external executive-level management on strategic issues related to business growth, market positioning, and competitive strategy.
• Mentor and develop senior business development leaders to ensure organizational capability and succession planning for essential business development roles.
• Uphold and exemplify company values; hold others accountable to these values in all business development activities, strategic decisions, and client interactions.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and full-scope polygraph is mandatory.
• Over 20 years of experience in the National Security industry, including more than 10 years in program management with a proven history of managing contracts exceeding $100M annually.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or space-related field (such as engineering, physics, or computer science); MBA is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition strategies, processes, and contract vehicles.
• Extensive experience across the system development lifecycle, from concept design to deployment.
• Proven success in capturing, organizing, producing, delivering, and winning competitive proposals.
• Strong leadership abilities, capable of organizing, coordinating, and leading diverse teams (program management, technical, and business development) throughout the capture and proposal process.
• Profound understanding of National Security Space missions, stakeholders, and acquisition pathways.
• Demonstrated capacity to engage with senior business and government leaders, providing strategic guidance and leadership.
• Experience in defining capture plans and leading proposal development for U.S. Government clients.
• Must be willing to occasionally travel to domestic locations to support capture and business development initiatives.
