This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Propel business expansion and enhance existing client partnerships for Drug Discovery & Pre-Clinical Development services.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and lead qualification to the finalization of contracts.
• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction are maintained.
• Collaborate with the VP of Sales to formulate and implement the overall commercial strategy within the designated territory.
• Position Evotec as the preferred partner within the territory.
• Maintain a strong presence in the territory, allocating approximately 40-50% of time for client interactions.
• Concentrate on acquiring new clients by identifying fresh business opportunities with biotech and pharmaceutical firms.
• Manage the entire sales pipeline, encompassing in-territory prospecting, follow-ups, client meetings, proposals, and contract negotiations and closures.
• Achieve or surpass assigned sales targets and quarterly KPIs.
• Keep a robust and precise pipeline within the CRM system.
• Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.
• Conduct capability presentations, introductory calls/meetings, and needs-assessment discussions.
• Act as the primary contact during the pre-award phase, ensuring a smooth transition to Project Management post-award.
• Manage selected accounts to foster repeat business and identify cross-sell or upsell opportunities.
• Stay informed about CRO industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, and client R&D priorities.
• Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, events, and client site visits.
• Provide market insights to internal teams to aid in service/product development, commercial strategy, and pipeline planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of sales experience, preferably within a CRO, CDMO, biotech service provider, or pre-clinical research environment.
• Documented success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Comprehensive understanding of the discovery and pre-clinical development processes.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively (40%+).
• Established network within the biotech and/or pharmaceutical sectors is desirable.
• Experience in selling complex scientific or technical services is preferred.
