This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of Onit’s category narrative and corporate positioning, articulating what Onit represents, what it replaces, and the defensibility of its differentiation.
• Establish the master brand story that Product Marketing will convert into product messaging and that Revenue Marketing will implement in demand programs.
• Guide the progression of Onit’s positioning as the market and the AI category evolve, ensuring the narrative stays ahead of competitors.
• Collaborate with the VP of Marketing and the executive team to align the brand narrative with the company strategy and significant market events.
• Analyze the competitive brand landscape and ensure Onit’s positioning adapts to actions taken by major competitors, including in enterprise legal management, CLM, and AI-native entrants.
• Manage Onit’s brand identity, voice, and visual system, setting the standard for how all teams apply them.
• Direct the website as a representation of the brand, overseeing the experience, design language, and how the narrative is presented to first-time visitors, in collaboration with web and design teams.
• Lead the creative and design function to produce on-brand materials at the pace expected of an AI company.
• Oversee brand presence and experience at top-tier events and guide the OnPoint community as a brand channel, developing it as a continuous touchpoint for legal ops buyers and advocates.
• Manage earned media and PR, enhancing Onit’s reputation and share of voice within the legal AI category.
• Lead the executive and employee thought leadership program, transitioning from episodic campaign spikes to a consistent, culture-driven organic engine.
• Ensure AI and LLM search visibility serves as a primary brand channel, increasing Onit’s citation share for relevant terms appealing to buyers.
• Establish the brand measurement framework, including awareness, share of voice, organic reach, sentiment, and earned media, reporting these metrics to the VP of Marketing and leadership on a set schedule with clear business impact framing.
• Assist in crafting the investor-facing narrative and corporate communications as Onit undergoes its AI platform transition, in partnership with the VP of Marketing and executive leadership.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing on analyst storytelling, providing the corporate narrative that analyst relations will present to the market.
• Build and consolidate the brand team, adding dedicated headcount to a function that has previously relied on multiple contributors, including in-house PR and social, content, and design talent; manage the brand budget with agency and vendor relationships.
• Maintain the brand standards across all teams that engage with the brand without overseeing every task, collaborating with Revenue Marketing and Product Marketing while keeping the scope defined.
• Function with the agility of an AI company: fast-paced, high-volume, experiment-driven, and adept at navigating ambiguity.
• A minimum of 8 years of brand or corporate marketing experience in B2B technology, ideally in enterprise SaaS, including experience in category positioning during a significant market shift.
• Proven experience leading branding efforts at the function level, with at least one demonstrable instance of building or revamping an identity or narrative.
• A portfolio showcasing your work: narratives you have authored, identities you have shaped, and reputation initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrated expertise in organic social, PR, and thought leadership as a growth system rather than just a set of tactics.
• In-depth understanding of how AI is transforming both the product narrative and the discovery layer, including how brands achieve visibility in AI search and LLMs.
• Experience in building and managing a team, with a history of nurturing talent and enhancing craftsmanship.
• The discernment to uphold brand standards across teams without controlling every task, and the diplomacy to collaborate with Product Marketing and Revenue Marketing without crossing boundaries.
• Strong executive presence and communication skills, able to present a clear point of view directly.
