Director, Billing Service, Call Center & Patient Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct various layers of leadership (Managers & Supervisors) within Patient Research and Call Center teams.

• Set long-term operational objectives aimed at scalability, efficiency, compliance, and client outcomes.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to align billing operations with the company's growth, technology, and service delivery strategies.

• Supervise daily billing operations throughout the entire revenue cycle, from patient research to collections.

• Ensure optimal performance across all functions, including productivity, accuracy, turnaround times, and reimbursement rates.

• Lead the standardization and optimization of workflows to enhance efficiency and diminish operational risk.

• Guarantee timely and accurate claim submission, follow-up, and resolution for all payer types.

• Manage essential financial and operational metrics, such as AR aging, denial rates, clean claim rates, and cash collections.

• Execute data-driven strategies to decrease denials, speed up reimbursements, and enhance overall revenue integrity.

• Track and report on performance trends, identifying risks and areas for improvement.

• Establish accountability frameworks and performance expectations at every organizational level.

• Ensure compliance of all billing practices with federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA and EMS billing guidelines.

• Collaborate with Compliance and QA teams to ensure audit readiness and minimize regulatory risks.

• Manage internal controls, audit processes, and quality standards across all billing functions.

• Build, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams within billing operations.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

• Oversee workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning for Billing Services.

• Ensure effective onboarding, training, and professional development programs across teams.

• Partner with Technology, Product, and IT teams to enhance billing systems, automation, and reporting capabilities.

• Collaborate with Client Services and Operations to ensure alignment between billing performance and client expectations.

• Work closely with Coding, QA, and Patient Research leadership to address upstream process gaps and improve claim readiness.

• Act as an executive point of contact for key clients regarding billing performance and service delivery.

• Present performance insights, reporting, and strategic initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure client satisfaction through consistent service excellence and measurable outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred; an advanced degree is preferred.

• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in revenue cycle management, healthcare billing, or EMS billing operations is preferred.

• 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing large, multi-functional teams is preferred.

• Extensive expertise in the entire revenue cycle, including patient research, coding, billing, QA, and collections.

• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and EMS billing regulations.

• Proven success in enhancing financial performance, operational efficiency, and team productivity.

• Experience in high-volume, technology-enabled, or outsourced billing settings is preferred.

• Strong leadership presence with the capability to influence at all organizational levels.

• Robust strategic thinking paired with hands-on operational leadership.

• Advanced analytical skills with the capacity to translate data into actionable business decisions.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to scale operations and lead through organizational growth and change.

• Strong process improvement mindset with experience in driving large-scale initiatives.

• High level of accountability, ownership, and results orientation.

• Ability to independently manage all facets of the job role, including required goals and business practices in a remote setting.
