This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Provide guidance to business and technology clients regarding market landscapes, vendor selection, implementation, and software proposals.
• Conduct research, write, and offer advice on digital transformation and manufacturing solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, ecosystems, architectures, and business models.
• Produce impactful research content, including Magic Quadrants, Market Guides, Hype Cycles, and Toolkits.
• Develop future-oriented research and thought leadership with actionable strategies.
• Identify client challenges and reshape strategies to facilitate progress.
• Distill market trends, emerging technologies, and independent insights into clear research positions.
• Deliver actionable advice through both virtual and in-person client interactions.
• Create and present at Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings.
• Assist Research and Sales with market insights, content creation, and client engagement.
• Perform timely, high-quality peer reviews of research content.
• Act as an industry expert representing Gartner's research, methodology, and strategy.
• Engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the research community.
• Enhance research processes and establish new procedures for service delivery.
• Guide and mentor junior team members.
• Foster ongoing client engagement through Gartner research and advisory interactions.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Graduate degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of relevant field or industry experience.
• Extensive experience in developing, managing, implementing, or utilizing manufacturing operations technologies.
• Strong understanding of cross-industry manufacturing processes, particularly in manufacturing operations management, manufacturing execution systems, and IT/OT integration.
• In-depth experience with MES.
• Familiarity with at least two to three areas including Manufacturing Operations, Production Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Excellence / Continuous Improvement, Production Automation, and Production Logistics.
• Executive presence and the capability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent skills in research, writing, communication, and presentation.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including data synthesis, application of frameworks, and defending conclusions.
• Solid business and financial understanding.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the relevant subject area.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a diverse global environment.
• Proficiency in navigating highly matrixed environments.
• Ability to effectively represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies at all organizational levels.
• Willingness and capability to travel up to 25% as needed.
