Director, AI Infrastructure Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the AI Operations team and handle the daily operations of Huron's governed AI capabilities within Corporate IT.

• Manage the AI Infrastructure Operations team, which includes roles for AI Infrastructure Architect and AI Infrastructure Engineer.

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead technical personnel.

• Take ownership of roadmap execution, prioritization, intake, decision-making forums, adoption results, and operational routines.

• Manage the governed enterprise AI capabilities, including Bedrock access, usage and cost transparency, sandbox management, application and agent registration, logging, exception management, Huron Knowledge validation, and decision rights.

• Facilitate the federated platform operating model alongside Client-facing AI Delivery, Enterprise IT, Global Products, Engineering, Analytics, Consulting, Security, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Enterprise Architecture.

• Collaborate with the AI Capability Center under the Chief AI Officer.

• Offer technical guidance on architecture, sequencing, control-plane, and delivery trade-offs.

• Leverage AI tools to enhance planning, documentation, backlog development, decision records, stakeholder communication, and platform artifact reviews.

• Provide reusable, approved, observable, and cost-effective pathways for AI adoption.

• Manage project scope, stakeholder involvement, budget tracking, and scaling criteria.

• Monitor and report metrics for governed access adoption, workload transparency, cost visibility, operational preparedness, Huron Knowledge enablement, agent safety, and delivery acceleration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, platform leadership, cloud operations, AI enablement, digital transformation, or enterprise architecture.

• More than 3 years of direct experience managing technical teams or leading cross-functional platform initiatives.

• Proven track record in people management, including hiring, developing, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations for technical staff.

• Strong comprehension of enterprise AI operational needs, including model access, data protection, cost attribution, auditability, workload classification, sandboxing, governed knowledge, and AI governance.

• Technical proficiency with cloud platforms, AI platforms, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.

• Demonstrated capability to utilize AI tools for analysis, documentation, planning, technical assessment, or lightweight prototyping.

• Ability to convert technical platform efforts into tangible business outcomes, stakeholder decisions, funding requirements, and adoption metrics.

• Established experience collaborating with senior stakeholders in technology, security, privacy, compliance, finance, legal, architecture, product, and delivery sectors.

• Excellent written communication abilities, including drafting decision memos, roadmap documents, and operating model documentation.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Amazon Bedrock, enterprise AI platforms, MLOps, LLMOps, platform engineering, or cloud governance.

• Preferred: Experience with durable agentic AI orchestration platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in establishing or managing intake, prioritization, governance, exception, or architecture review processes.

• Preferred: Experience in regulated, client-sensitive, PHI, PII, or confidential data environments.

• Preferred: Experience driving platform adoption across federated business teams.
