Director, AI Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a robust governance framework that encompasses data quality, privacy, lineage, and ethical AI practices across all enterprise systems and platforms.

• Lead the Data Council and engage in the AI Governance Board to evaluate and authorize new data and AI use cases, ensuring they are in line with organizational standards and policies.

• Oversee the enterprise data catalog, metadata standards, and stewardship processes to ensure clear ownership, lifecycle management, and access control.

• Collaborate with the Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Legal teams to guarantee compliance with global data regulations, privacy laws, and AI governance requirements.

• Establish guidelines for citizen-led AI initiatives, ensuring the secure, compliant, and responsible utilization of low-code and generative AI tools throughout the organization.

• Create and monitor governance KPIs—such as data quality metrics, privacy incidents, and model validation rates—to provide accountability and track progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in data governance, information management, or AI governance within complex enterprise settings.

• Profound knowledge of data management disciplines, including data quality, metadata, privacy, and lineage frameworks.

• Familiarity with AI model lifecycle governance, responsible AI principles, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).

• Proven track record of leading enterprise councils or cross-functional governance initiatives.

• Strong collaboration abilities with privacy, security, and compliance departments.

• Outstanding communication and influence skills, capable of translating governance and AI concepts into clear insights for executive leadership.
