This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products.
β’ Supervise the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components.
β’ Manage the training of foundation models, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
β’ Make decisions regarding build versus buy for open-source and SaaS AI technologies.
β’ Develop optimization techniques for foundation models to enhance scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and throughput.
β’ Contribute to the technical vision and strategic long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
β’ Attract and retain AI talent while fostering team development.
β’ Transform the enterprise AI strategy into actionable portfolio-level execution plans.
β’ Scale AI engineering practices through shared infrastructure, reusable components, and integrated observability and governance frameworks.
β’ Establish enterprise standards for Responsible AI, including fairness metrics, model evaluation protocols, documentation, and audit readiness.
β’ Collaborate with research, compliance, and enterprise risk teams to uphold ethical and regulatory standards.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, along with at least 8 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies; or a Master's degree in the same fields with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in managing people.
β’ Over 5 years of experience in managing and leading an engineering team.
β’ More than 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
β’ Proficient in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, CUDA, or Golang.
β’ Experience in building agentic AI systems and workflows.
β’ Proven track record of building and leading multi-team AI organizations that deliver multiple enterprise products or capabilities simultaneously.
β’ Experience in executing long-term AI platform strategies that align with enterprise priorities and regulatory frameworks.
β’ Familiarity with establishing cross-functional operational rhythms and review cadences, including OKRs, AI governance councils, and quarterly reviews.
β’ Experience in optimizing models, instance counts, and hardware types based on requirements.
