Director, Ads Product Legal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of advertising attorneys supporting Reddit’s Ads Product, Ads Engineering, and Monetization organization.

• Serve as a player-coach, providing direct counsel and strategic insight to business leaders and Reddit's executive team regarding ads product initiatives.

• Guide Reddit’s Ads Policy teams in scaling efforts across emerging sectors and international markets.

• Formulate and implement a cohesive legal strategy and risk management framework for global ads products.

• Assist in the allocation and prioritization of engineering resources for legal projects as we venture into or expand within new markets.

• Establish scalable internal systems and processes to enhance Reddit’s launch efficiency.

• Create scalable external mechanisms that facilitate product speed and minimize one-off negotiations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12-15+ years of legal practice, including a minimum of 7 years in-house as an ads product counsel at a technology firm (ideally a UGC platform).

• Extensive knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations applicable to advertising on a global scale (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, U.S. state privacy laws).

• Strong understanding of online advertising ecosystems (platforms, Pixels/CAPI, MMPs, data clean rooms, measurement vendors).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.

• Juris Doctor degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (or the ability to register as in-house counsel where necessary).
