This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and provide support for HL7, FHIR, and API-based integrations across healthcare systems.
• Create and maintain interfaces utilizing industry-standard integration platforms.
• Develop and support both real-time and batch interfaces.
• Analyze interface requirements, source and target specifications, as well as data mappings.
• Troubleshoot intricate integration issues across both upstream and downstream systems.
• Assist with data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation using SQL and related tools.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, data mappings, and operational runbooks.
• Act as the integration project manager or workstream lead for designated initiatives.
• Create and oversee project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
• Coordinate tasks among internal team members, client stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
• Monitor status, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies; escalate proactively when necessary.
• Lead or assist in integration testing cycles, cutover planning, and readiness for go-live.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience in the healthcare industry, including hospital, health system, or healthcare IT consulting environments.
• Practical experience with one or more integration engines/platforms such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, InterSystems Ensemble, or IRIS.
• Proficient knowledge of HL7 (v2.x required; v3 preferred).
• Experience with FHIR, RESTful APIs, and contemporary interoperability patterns.
• Understanding of USCDI, interoperability regulations, and healthcare data standards.
• Strong SQL capabilities, including querying, troubleshooting, and data validation.
• Experience in supporting or integrating with one or more major EHR platforms: Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and function effectively in ambiguous or fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
