DevSecOps Project Lead – Sr DevSecOps Engineer

Posted 3 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and scale hosting architecture in IL-5 environments with a pathway to IL-6.

• Assess and choose deployment strategies across government networks, GovCloud, and hybrid platforms.

• Create a production environment that facilitates zero-downtime deployments and supports enterprise-scale growth.

• Develop, construct, and manage a modern CI/CD pipeline that incorporates testing, security scanning, and compliance validation.

• Establish and oversee development, staging, and production environments.

• Ensure compliance with DoD requirements (e.g., Iron Bank, STIGs, ACAS/OpenSCAP, FIPS).

• Lead the transition from existing contractors and government-furnished environments.

• Inventory, evaluate, and rationalize current services, dependencies, and infrastructure.

• Simplify and consolidate the architecture into a scalable and maintainable system.

• Take ownership of the release cadence from capability intake to production deployment.

• Guarantee deployment quality through monitoring, rollback readiness, and performance metrics (e.g., uptime, failure rates).

• Support continuous delivery in alignment with government timelines and operational requirements.

• Collaborate with Platform Security and RMF leadership to align on the ATO strategy.

• Ensure that the pipeline produces the necessary artifacts for authorization and continuous compliance.

• Integrate security and compliance into the delivery lifecycle, rather than treating it as a post-deployment task.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps engineering, including ownership of at least one production pipeline from start to finish at scale.

• 5+ years of experience working in DoD cloud environments (such as Azure Gov IL-5, AWS GovCloud, or another equivalent IL-5 authorized environment). Familiarity with DoD impact-level boundaries and the CC SRG.3.

• Practical experience managing at least one complete ATO or cATO pathway in a production setting.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).

• Willingness to travel up to 25% to USMC sites, Defcon AI HQ, and industry vendor facilities as necessary.

🏝️ Benefits

• A fully remote, results-driven work environment.

• Competitive salary, bonus, and equity package.

• Comprehensive health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision, fully covered by the employer for you and your family.

• Unlimited PTO, subject to manager's approval.

• A flexible work environment where you control your workday.

• 14 weeks of fully-paid parental leave.
