This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and scale hosting architecture in IL-5 environments with a pathway to IL-6.
• Assess and choose deployment strategies across government networks, GovCloud, and hybrid platforms.
• Create a production environment that facilitates zero-downtime deployments and supports enterprise-scale growth.
• Develop, construct, and manage a modern CI/CD pipeline that incorporates testing, security scanning, and compliance validation.
• Establish and oversee development, staging, and production environments.
• Ensure compliance with DoD requirements (e.g., Iron Bank, STIGs, ACAS/OpenSCAP, FIPS).
• Lead the transition from existing contractors and government-furnished environments.
• Inventory, evaluate, and rationalize current services, dependencies, and infrastructure.
• Simplify and consolidate the architecture into a scalable and maintainable system.
• Take ownership of the release cadence from capability intake to production deployment.
• Guarantee deployment quality through monitoring, rollback readiness, and performance metrics (e.g., uptime, failure rates).
• Support continuous delivery in alignment with government timelines and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with Platform Security and RMF leadership to align on the ATO strategy.
• Ensure that the pipeline produces the necessary artifacts for authorization and continuous compliance.
• Integrate security and compliance into the delivery lifecycle, rather than treating it as a post-deployment task.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps engineering, including ownership of at least one production pipeline from start to finish at scale.
• 5+ years of experience working in DoD cloud environments (such as Azure Gov IL-5, AWS GovCloud, or another equivalent IL-5 authorized environment). Familiarity with DoD impact-level boundaries and the CC SRG.3.
• Practical experience managing at least one complete ATO or cATO pathway in a production setting.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to USMC sites, Defcon AI HQ, and industry vendor facilities as necessary.
