
DevOps Engineer – EU Night Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.
• Assist in enhancing and maintaining various hybrid production infrastructure environments for over 15 development teams managing more than 100 products, 10,000+ domains, and billions of hits daily.
• Aid developers in resolving intricate technical challenges across multiple stacks and environments.
• Design and strategize improvements for a multi-datacenter development environment.
• Engage in design choices, including researching new technologies and creating prototypes.
• Advocate for and support development teams in transitioning their services to more automated and elastic infrastructures utilizing top-tier technologies (Cloud, Kubernetes, Serverless, etc.).
• Document processes and monitor performance metrics across all our environments and services.
• Promote and implement effective CICD strategies and practices.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of critical cloud-based shared services that serve multiple products.
• Support and expand the coverage of our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework.
• Mentor junior DevOps personnel to gain experience and adhere to best practices.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• A passion for enhancing efficiency and reliability.
• Experience as a DevOps or Systems Administrator with several years in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of scalability patterns applicable to infrastructure architecture for high-traffic systems.
• Strong understanding of the three major Cloud providers' offerings, with real-world experience in at least one.
• Familiarity with provisioning servers, virtual machines, and services using VMWare or an equivalent.
• Capable and willing to assist developers in debugging complex issues.
• Comfortable with the command line, scripting, and configuring applications such as Web Servers, Load Balancers, etc.
• Experience managing highly available database clusters and caching systems.
• Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure setup in a web hosting/delivery environment (DNS, HTTPS, WAF).
• Proficient in debugging and coding (preferably in Python).
• Good understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery models and best practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with configuration management and/or orchestration tools like Ansible.
• Knowledge of monitoring processes and tools.
• Self-sufficient with excellent communication and time management skills.
• Advanced experience with ElasticSearch (Nice To Have).
• Advanced experience with Percona Server for MySQL (Nice To Have).
• Experience managing GitLab server instances (Nice To Have).
• Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes across all major cloud providers (Nice To Have).
• Ability to switch contexts professionally (Nice To Have).
• Proficiency in command-line usage (Nice To Have).
