DevOps Engineer – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee our cloud data infrastructure on GCP utilizing Terraform. Advocate for automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.

• Take responsibility for the stability, performance, and quality of our data platform. Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging to proactively detect and resolve issues.

• Continuously assess and enhance the platform for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability. Ensure optimal utilization of our resources.

• Collaborate closely with data and analytics engineers to meet their requirements, streamline deployment processes, and maintain a stable development environment.

• Act as a proactive agent for enhancement. Identify bottlenecks, security risks, and opportunities to improve our systems and processes.

• Stay informed about the latest trends in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and AI technologies. Provide guidance to the team on best practices and emerging tools.

• Clearly communicate technical concepts and platform status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including international clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or in a similar capacity.

• Strong practical experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform for managing infrastructure as code.

• Solid understanding of data infrastructure components, including data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and data lakes.

• Demonstrated capability to enhance the performance, stability, and quality of complex platforms.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Elementary, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.

• Practical experience with data-specific tools like BigQuery, Airflow, or dbt.

• A proactive, self-motivated, and problem-solving attitude.

• Advanced or fluent English proficiency is essential for this international project.

• Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.

• Interest in or experience with the infrastructure needs for AI and machine learning (MLOps).
