This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop and sustain systems to monitor ideas throughout the development process
• Recognize researchers and institutions of interest, cultivate relationships with them, and keep the team updated on new opportunities
• Identify suitable individuals and venues for each story and manage the outreach necessary to facilitate access
• Stay informed on the latest research and discoveries, highlighting developments that could evolve into compelling Veritasium stories
• Discover new stories, craft pitches, and present ideas to the team
• Strong scientific foundation, holding a degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific field
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfortable engaging with researchers, academics, and industry professionals, including through cold outreach
• Proficient in setting up, maintaining, and enhancing databases
• Exceptional research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking abilities; skilled at diving deep into primary sources
• Highly organized with excellent project management capabilities and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
• Enthusiastic about science storytelling and eager to cultivate strong editorial instincts over time
• Preferred: Experience in science communication, YouTube, or long-form science journalism
• Familiarity with physics simulations or ad hoc programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
