Development Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist the Development team by creating communications and appeals.

• Process gifts efficiently.

• Generate reports as needed.

• Conduct research to support initiatives.

• Manage stewardship activities.

• Plan and coordinate events.

• Provide administrative support.

• Aid in donor relations and communications.

• Handle gift processing and acknowledgments.

• Perform prospect research.

• Oversee estate and bequest administration.

• Coordinate planned giving marketing initiatives.

• Create donor reports for events and projects.

• Organize donor stewardship events.

• Manage tax receipting processes.

• Offer administrative assistance.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or advanced degree is preferred, in education, educational technology, business, marketing, communications, or a related field.

• Knowledge of the 2SLGBTQI community and an understanding of 2SLGBTQI human rights in general.

• 1-2 years of development experience in individual giving, donor relations, planned giving, and/or events, with a proven track record in relationship management, reporting, stewardship, and client relations.

• Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software is advantageous.

• Experience in a not-for-profit, 2SLGBTQI community, and/or social justice settings is preferred.

• Strategic, creative, and possess strong writing and editing skills for reporting purposes.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, perform well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

• Capacity to prioritize effectively, be self-directed, and work with minimal supervision.

• Exceptional attention to detail and quality, along with outstanding organizational skills.

• Willingness to work flexibly, including alternative hours and adjusting to changing priorities.

• A team-oriented individual with a service-minded attitude and the ability to inspire others.

• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with Board Members, the Executive Director, consultants, and donors/prospects.

• Lived experience as a member of the 2SLGBTQI community is a plus.

• Proven project planning and management capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.

• Creative problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.

• Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and technical skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Adaptable to changes based on feedback from various channels.

• Must possess the capability to effectively manage assigned projects from inception to completion.

• Previous experience in a development role.

• Understanding of intersectionality and a commitment to working within an anti-oppression/anti-racism framework.

• Proficient in various computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, Google applications).
