This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as a reliable technical advisor for research laboratories, facilitating the identification and acceleration of high-impact tasks by incorporating NVIDIA's frameworks, libraries, and core software stack into research initiatives.
• Continuously analyze and map the research landscape to uncover opportunities for institutional growth and to guide long-term technological strategies.
• Keep abreast of research publications within related fields to anticipate emerging trends and offer technical guidance on prospective collaboration areas.
• Work collaboratively across departments with Research Account Managers, Solution Architects, and Business Development teams to enhance researcher capabilities.
• Build stronger connections with laboratory personnel, gaining insights into organizational dynamics and the comprehensive range of research activities being undertaken.
• Participate in domain-specific scientific conferences and facilitate NVIDIA's involvement alongside other experts in the field.
• Advocate for the needs of researchers internally by converting academic feedback into actionable insights that influence product development, educational initiatives, and platform strategies.
• PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Computational Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent experience demonstrating similar research expertise.
• Over 3 years of relevant experience.
• Profound expertise in the application of AI to fields such as computational physics, particle physics, astrophysics, plasma/fusion, quantum systems, materials science, climate/earth systems, or scientific simulation.
• Strong proficiency in AI techniques pertinent to physics, including neural operators, surrogate models, physics-informed machine learning, differentiable simulation, simulation-based inference, generative modeling, and uncertainty quantification.
• Familiarity with physics research workflows, encompassing HPC simulations, numerical solvers, experimental/sensor data, large-scale instruments, inverse problems, and GPU-accelerated scientific pipelines.
• Capability to engage with leading physicists and researchers from national laboratories on topics such as physical consistency, interpretability, numerical accuracy, reproducibility, simulation enhancements, and scientific integrity.
• Established research credibility demonstrated through publications, open-source scientific software contributions, collaborations with academic or national labs, technical leadership, or practical experience in AI for physics or computational science.
