Developer Productivity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Assess, integrate, and sustain developer tools and AI agents.

• Create and manage agents within CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures and suggest solutions.

• Enhance automated pull request evaluations by assessing finding accuracy and minimizing reviewer distractions.

• Design scripts and checks for code quality, focusing on complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.

• Collaborate with package owners to establish practical thresholds and targeted refactoring efforts.

• Optimize development environments, testing procedures, and build and release workflows.

• Prioritize enhancements in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Facilitate adoption through comprehensive documentation and onboarding processes.

• Evaluate effectiveness, reliability, and operational costs.

• Take ownership of tooling enhancements from implementation to adoption and ongoing support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation utilized by others.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools or agents, including integration.

• Strong judgment regarding the limitations of AI tools, output validation, and the necessity for human review.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing methodologies.

• Systematic approach to debugging issues related to builds, tests, or integrations.

• Commitment to code quality, maintainable coding practices, automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.

• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with engineers.

• Excellent English communication skills within a remote, globally distributed team.
