This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop, test, and maintain applications powered by AI and intelligent workflows utilizing Python in a cloud-native setting.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services to integrate AI models, external tools, and enterprise systems.
• Construct and enhance data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data used in AI application workflows.
• Assist in the implementation of retrieval-based and prompt-driven AI experiences, such as semantic search and contextual response generation.
• Enhance the performance of application and model integration for scalability, reliability, latency, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver AI-enabled features and solutions.
• Apply best practices for security, testing, monitoring, and CI/CD automation throughout the AI application development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application logic, model integrations, and system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Write clean, structured, and well-documented code that adheres to the team's engineering standards and development best practices.
• Remain informed about emerging AI technologies, Python frameworks, and industry trends related to intelligent application development.
• 5-8 years of experience in Python development, including a minimum of 2 years in AI/ML development.
• Strong expertise in Python along with familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience in API development, integration, and web services within production environments.
• Practical experience in integrating AI or ML models, LLM APIs, or automation frameworks into applications.
• In-depth knowledge of database systems including SQL, NoSQL, and data storage patterns for AI applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, as well as containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and scalable backend architectures.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, version control, and software engineering best practices.
• Capability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment with strong problem-solving and execution skills.
