This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• The Designer III acts as a developing individual contributor within a team, enhancing your leadership, mentorship, and guidance capabilities.
• You will play a key role in achieving the objectives of scope, timeline, and delivery requirements.
• You will engage with stakeholders and leverage your influential skills to promote enhancements in design processes and methodologies.
• Demonstrates the ability to forge connections with team members, government and company stakeholders, as well as program management team members.
• Responsible for managing both tactical assignments related to programs and strategic initiatives to fulfill delivery expectations.
• Capable of navigating through vague requirements and environments to ensure successful delivery.
• Produces design outputs including discovery artifacts, sketches, rough prototypes, wireframes, UX flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Applies design skills such as typography and hierarchy.
• Aids in the development and communication of milestones and delivers results in their area of expertise.
• Actively collaborates with Senior Designers and is open to receiving mentorship.
• Oversees the creation of competitive analyses and communicates findings to stakeholders.
• Contributes to design libraries by providing visual design and branding artifacts.
• Works with a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate discussions and clarify objectives to meet requirements.
• Shows the ability to coach and mentor designers, focusing on providing constructive feedback that fosters individual growth in the design field.
• Develops storytelling abilities to create engaging artifacts and presentations that simplify complex issues into clear, understandable solutions.
• Guides human-centered design processes and deliverables in accordance with established standards and regulations.
• May oversee accessibility tasks, including 508 compliance, and possesses knowledge of other emerging accessibility standards.
• Capable of identifying risks and communicating them to leadership while offering recommendations to mitigate those risks.
• May create and manage content for highly visible websites or applications, following design guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience may be counted in place of formal education.
• Progressive experience with design principles and relevant technologies, with an understanding of roles they interact with and the impact of their work on business objectives.
• Proficient in design software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe, or other design tools.
• Knowledge of policy and guidance related to Section 508/WCAG compliance.
• Experience in designing test cases and plans.
• Subject Matter Expert on accessibility tools and techniques.
