Remotery

Designer

Posted May 31

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the social content pipeline from beginning to end: planning, narrative development, storyboarding, design, and going through the approval process. While Instagram is the main focus, you'll also create content for LinkedIn, TikTok, and X.

• Develop carousels, static posts, story templates, short-form video graphics, and platform-specific formats with a consistent weekly schedule. Carousels are a key format for Darkroom, and a passion for creating them is essential.

• Establish visual systems and content series — create repeatable frameworks and templates instead of starting from scratch each time.

• Achieve content velocity targets, as maintaining consistency is just as important as ensuring quality.

• Stay updated on platform specifications and trending content, incorporating these elements into every asset you produce.

• Monitor performance and make adjustments. If something is successful, expand on it; if it isn't, analyze the issues and modify accordingly.

• Manage your own workflows — proactively address any blockers and ensure timely delivery.

• Create visuals for case studies that transform client results into persuasive evidence for sales and social media.

• Develop assets for both internal and external presentations, including decks, pitch materials, and thought leadership visuals.

• Sustain Darkroom's Figma-based brand system — including templates, asset libraries, and scalable components.

• Assist with brand identity work as it evolves: event branding, merchandise, and co-marketing materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess over 3 years of experience in brand, marketing, or visual design.

• Your portfolio prominently features social work — carousel systems, content series, and platform-native creative. If it mainly consists of logos and brand guidelines, this role may not be suitable.

• You have a systems-based mindset and comprehend how design performs on social platforms: thumb-stops, pacing, format constraints, and platform dynamics.

• You are proficient in Figma — adept in creating scalable components, maintaining organized files, and utilizing shared libraries.

• You exhibit strong typography and layout instincts across various formats — both a carousel slide and a presentation deck should convey a polished aesthetic.

• You identify as a designer first, specializing in social media, rather than a social media professional who has learned Figma.

• You are organized, accountable, and capable of articulating your design reasoning clearly.

🏝️ Benefits

• Unlimited PTO + Local holidays (specific to your hub): Taking breaks is essential for productivity. Utilize the time you need to recharge.

• Remote-First Culture: Many positions are fully remote. Employees located in or around our New York or Lisbon headquarters are expected to work in a hybrid manner with weekly in-office attendance. Hub locations include Brazil and Spain.

• Parental Leave: Flexible parental leave options to assist new parents during this significant life transition.

• Growth: Our interdisciplinary model provides all Darkroomers with exposure that goes beyond their primary role. Enhance your skills, broaden your influence, and remain at the cutting edge of the industry.
