Design Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture a team of designers through hiring, performance management, coaching, and regular one-on-one meetings.

• Develop a dependable operating model that includes intake, prioritization, service level agreements, delivery tracking, and stakeholder satisfaction.

• Incorporate data-driven design methodologies such as hypotheses, measurement plans, UX metrics baselines, and journey analytics.

• Integrate research and usability testing into routine decision-making processes using established tools and procedures.

• Ensure quality control through standards and review gates while enhancing the clarity of customer-facing language in a regulated environment.

• Promote the adoption and scaling of the design system throughout design and engineering teams, focusing on documentation, reuse, and handoff quality.

• Introduce and implement AI and tooling across the team, establishing clear use cases, promoting adoption, and measuring impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and developing designers within a product-focused environment, including people management and hiring responsibilities.

• A strong analytical mindset towards design, being comfortable with metrics, experiments, and making evidence-based decisions.

• Capability to establish team-level processes that enhance quality and predictability.

• Exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken English, along with strong stakeholder management abilities.

• In-depth understanding of effective design principles in complex and regulated products, with fintech experience considered a plus.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI and tools into workflows, moving beyond ad hoc experimentation.
