This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Develop sheet sets and execute design tasks for various engineering disciplines in support of renewable energy and substation initiatives.
• Gain and utilize knowledge of renewable energy system layouts and components, including modules, racking, inverters, and Balance of Systems (BOS).
• Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, trade regulations, and jurisdictional safety protocols.
• Efficiently manage time across several projects.
• Collaborate with clients and project managers to align on their expectations.
• Work under the mentorship of more experienced staff.
• Participate in or oversee small-scale projects or specific sections of larger projects, focusing on the preparation of drawings and engineering documentation.
• Attend project meetings and present particular elements of engineering tasks.
• Use collaborative judgment to adapt methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
• Carry out essential responsibilities, including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned or instructed.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant work experience.
• Over 2 years of experience in design and drafting using AutoCAD.
• More than 2 years of experience in the design of solar PV systems or energy storage systems.
• Experience in commercial or utility-scale projects is preferred.
• A strong interest in multi-disciplinary design, incorporating considerations from civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering fields.
• Capability to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be both innovative and analytical.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong time management skills – able to handle multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision, including effective prioritization, organization, and planning to meet all deadlines.
