Design Engineer, Brand Studio

📋 Description

• Design and develop meticulously crafted, experimental digital experiences, interactive projects, and innovative tools.

• Collaborate closely with designers and art directors to transform ambitious creative visions into technically outstanding experiences, while also contributing your insights to enhance the quality of the work.

• Investigate emerging technologies and novel technical methodologies, swiftly assessing what is achievable and the best approaches to implement them.

• Effectively tackle ambiguous technical challenges independently, progressing methodically from initial experiments to completed projects.

• Create and launch standalone web experiences when suitable, while identifying and communicating the need for additional engineering support for more complex initiatives.

• Engage with hardware, physical computing, displays, sensors, embedded systems, and other technologies as projects may require.

• Partner with external engineers, fabricators, technical studios, and other experts, providing sufficient technical knowledge to be a valuable creative and engineering collaborator.

• Uphold a high standard for performance, reliability, usability, and craftsmanship without letting conventional technical methods unduly limit creative ideas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of relevant experience in software engineering, creative technology, or creative development.

• In-depth expertise in at least one area of creative engineering, along with a demonstrated interest and proficiency in related technologies.

• A portfolio showcasing technically ambitious, well-crafted projects, such as experimental websites, interactive experiences, real-time graphics, games, installations, creative tools, or other innovative technology applications.

• Strong foundational skills in frontend engineering with experience in independently developing and launching public-facing web experiences.

• Excellent visual and interaction sensibilities, with the capability to accurately execute complex creative directions and recognize areas for enhancement.

• Proven experience in addressing unfamiliar technical challenges with a high level of independence.

• Proficient in writing thoughtful, maintainable code and making practical engineering choices in fast-paced settings.
