Design Director, Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of intricate digital products, platforms, and experiences from inception to implementation.

• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, craft solutions, and foster alignment.

• Navigate teams through uncertainty, assisting in transforming complex challenges into clear and thoughtful experiences.

• Set and uphold a high standard for craftsmanship across visual design, interaction design, systems thinking, and user experience.

• Conduct workshops, presentations, critiques, and collaborative sessions with clients and internal teams.

• Provide mentorship to designers through constructive feedback, creative direction, and teamwork in problem-solving.

• Balance strategic intentions with practical execution, ensuring that concepts can be successfully implemented.

• Manage multiple projects and workstreams while promoting team well-being, quality, and timely delivery.

• Advocate for collaboration among design, strategy, production, and technology disciplines.

• Remain inquisitive about emerging technologies and assist teams in thoughtfully exploring new opportunities and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in leading the design of complex digital products, platforms, services, or interactive experiences.

• Strong expertise in product design, with the capability to align user needs, business objectives, and technical realities.

• Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and working closely with strategy, technology, and production partners.

• A systems-thinking mindset with experience in managing large-scale, interconnected experiences.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while upholding a high standard of craftsmanship and execution.

• Confidence in direct client interactions, building trust, and navigating complex discussions.

• A genuine interest in emerging technologies, including AI, and a passion for exploring how they can improve products, experiences, and workflows.
