This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Lead integration and separation initiatives from the planning phase through to execution.
• Coordinate teams of professionals and services across various RSM practices.
• Cultivate and expand client networks by leveraging business acumen, personal connections, and sophisticated delivery skills.
• Oversee relationships and manage multiple engagements, including on-site client projects.
• Assist in developing Deal Services and Integration and Separation Advisory offerings throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing, diverse practice team.
• Enhance methodologies, tools, approaches, perspectives, and thought leadership for the comprehensive M&A services.
• Generate business through both internal and external channels and promote services across a variety of firm offerings.
• Mentor and guide director- and manager-level engagement leaders.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to both internal and external clients.
• Facilitate client workshops targeting private equity and strategic corporate buyers.
• Sell and structure pre-close planning, post-close planning, and Day 1 operational support engagements.
• Provide management guidance across functional business areas based on the engagement scope, industry, and complexity of transactions.
• Oversee TSA evaluations, identify deal perimeter gaps, assess pricing, and structure TSA or reverse-TSA services.
• Develop strategies to close operational gaps with new services, systems, personnel, processes, or contracts.
• Identify stranded costs and manage exit processes on the sell-side.
• Assist in synergy assessments and post-close synergy realization through value engineering, cost management, and identifying growth opportunities.
• Support the sales cycle while ensuring that engagements are managed profitably.
• Formulate and implement annual firm- and practice-level strategies in collaboration with ISA and Deal Services leadership.
• 10-12+ years of experience in M&A, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, separations, or value creation within a professional services firm environment.
• Extensive knowledge of middle market business, including private equity, privately held, or publicly traded companies.
• Experience across various industries; alignment with private equity is a plus.
• Preferred background in TMT, Life Sciences, financial services, healthcare, or other demonstrated industry depth.
• Strong grasp of complex program management and leadership principles.
• Willingness to travel 3-4 days per week for 40-45 weeks each year.
• Proficient in process and operating model development.
• Solid financial acumen to manage the financial outcomes of engagements.
• Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and business skills.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, technical facilitation, and report writing skills.
• High self-motivation in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An MBA or Master’s degree in business or a technical field is advantageous.
