DBA, Reliability and Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee extensive PostgreSQL instances, focusing on performance optimization and high-availability setups.

• Design, implement, and manage MongoDB replica sets; enhance aggregation pipelines while ensuring consistency and scalability.

• Administer Redis installations for caching and real-time data management, utilizing Sentinel or Cluster for high availability.

• Execute database migrations, upgrades, patching, and backups across various platforms.

• Utilize Dynatrace for monitoring database performance, creating dashboards, and setting up intelligent alert systems.

• Conduct AI-driven root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks, deadlocks, and sluggish queries.

• Assess data growth and resource usage for effective capacity planning.

• Streamline database provisioning and configuration through automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Integrate database schema modifications and deployments into CI/CD workflows.

• Create Python, Bash, or Go scripts for automating maintenance tasks and implementing self-healing features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent.

• Over 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL, including expertise in MVCC, WAL, and extension management.

• More than 3 years of experience managing production MongoDB NoSQL environments, with a focus on sharding and security enhancements.

• Demonstrated experience in managing Redis at scale, covering aspects such as persistence, memory management, and eviction strategies.

• Practical experience with Dynatrace or comparable APM solutions like Datadog or New Relic.

• Proficient in Ansible or Terraform.

• Strong scripting capabilities in Python or Bash.

• Advanced proficiency in Linux/Unix command-line operations.

• Knowledge of system-level performance tuning, including kernel parameter adjustments and I/O scheduling.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native database services, and relevant database or Dynatrace certifications.

• Ability to navigate complex, multi-dimensional challenges effectively under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
