Databricks Practice Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement scalable data solutions utilizing the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, encompassing Medallion architecture, streaming integration, and ACID-compliant structures.

• Spearhead pre-sales and business development initiatives by evaluating current environments, identifying client challenges, comparing technologies, and justifying ROI for customized solutions.

• Counsel client executives (CTOs, CDOs) on strategic data initiatives, platform advancements, and enterprise-level architectural decisions.

• Ensure governance and adherence of delivered solutions to the original scope, acting as the escalation point for delivery teams.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, BI, platform, integration, and AI, to foster innovation and promote data democratization.

• Mentor and guide data teams, facilitating discussions and overseeing technical delivery without formal management responsibilities.

• Keep abreast of product advancements, including Lakehouse Monitoring, Lake Designer, Delta Sharing, Mosaic AI, and Matrix.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data engineering, solution architecture, or related fields.

• Practical expertise with the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and cloud-based data technologies.

• Experience in supporting pre-sales efforts such as discovery sessions, technical demonstrations, and proposal creation.

• Strong foundation in enterprise data architecture, governance frameworks, and design of scalable solutions.

• Experience with platform migrations including Snowflake, Informatica, and on-premises systems.

• Capability to pragmatically evaluate cloud platforms and provide cost and ROI analysis (e.g., Snowflake vs Databricks) during pre-sales interactions.

• Demonstrated client-facing abilities with a talent for leading strategic discussions and translating technical solutions into business benefits.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with a transparent, humble, and adaptable demeanor.
