Database Technician – BES

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and implement one or more intricate databases under the supervision of a lead.

• Support the planning and engineering efforts related to the organization's databases.

• Monitor database performance, scalability, and security measures.

• Assess the current database design to identify necessary updates and integration needs for a new design.

• Ensure that final solutions align with organizational requirements.

• Perform routine database administration responsibilities.

• Document data in database administration logs.

• Work under the oversight of a Database Administrator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States.

• Must reside in the U.S. and have maintained permanent residency for a minimum of the last 3 consecutive years (36 months).

• Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to fulfill eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of a Relational Database Management System (RDMS) such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server, with a preference for Oracle.

• Ability to design and develop SQL queries and reports to extract required data under the guidance of a lead.

• Proven experience in a team-oriented, collaborative, and agile environment.

• Highly self-motivated and directed, with the capacity to manage multi-discipline triage calls.

• Familiarity with database partitioning and microservices.

• Knowledge of cloud-native database solutions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) and DynamoDB.

• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle in a collaborative, agile team environment.

• Proficient with tools such as ServiceNow, GitHub, and Jira.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to follow directions effectively.

• A strong enthusiasm and aptitude for learning.
