Database Analyst – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Manage and provide support for Azure databases (Azure SQL, Managed Instance) and SQL Server operating on virtual machines.

• Oversee production environments and address incidents, which includes analysis, mitigation, and resolution.

• Diagnose performance challenges, replication issues, and outages.

• Implement production changes via the GMUD change-management process and assist with rollback and contingency plans.

• Optimize queries and indexes; ensure that backups are valid and restores are successful.

• Engage in root cause analysis (RCA) and initiatives aimed at enhancing stability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a mid-level Database Administrator, ideally in operations and production support roles.

• Proficient in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and backup/restore processes.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database and/or SQL Managed Instance.

• Competence in monitoring, backup/restore, and troubleshooting incidents.

• Strong SQL capabilities and knowledge of automation using Shell Script, Python, or comparable tools.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation schedules.

• Experience with AWS (RDS, Aurora) and familiarity with multicloud environments is a plus.

• Understanding of Oracle, MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB is an advantage.

• Knowledge of observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace), ITSM, Terraform, and SRE principles is a benefit.
