Database Administrator, PostgreSQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage PostgreSQL databases effectively.

• Conduct quality assurance and assist in developing data models.

• Serve as a consultant for performance, data operations, and connection management.

• Provide guidance to teams on optimizing SQL queries.

• Contribute to the establishment of SQL coding standards and naming conventions.

• Design foundational schemas or containers in both on-premises and cloud settings.

• Aid in creating scripts for provisioning, updating, or deploying database environments.

• Oversee cloud database service usage and offer recommendations for cost optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years' experience as a systems development or maintenance analyst with a relational DBMS.

• At least 5 years' expertise with PostgreSQL version 14 or later.

• Proven experience in administering databases within a cloud environment.

• Involvement in a project utilizing DbUp or an automated data deployment tool.

• Familiarity with Azure Database for PostgreSQL or CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.

• Capability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and document work accurately.

• Strong command of French, both spoken and written.
