Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Assess database management practices, access models, and operational responsibilities.

• Analyze monitoring coverage, backup strategies, and routine maintenance procedures.

• Detect performance issues and prioritize stability challenges.

• Transform findings into a concise, prioritized action plan for the client.

• Execute operational best practices for MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Suggest and implement performance enhancements.

• Confirm backup integrity and conduct recovery testing.

• Enhance monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

• Manage and resolve incidents effectively.

• Document current systems, modifications, and operational protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong production DBA experience with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience in backup and recovery processes, including design, validation, and real restoration testing.

• Proficiency in query and index optimization, execution plan analysis, and wait statistics assessment.

• Experience with monitoring and alerting setup on either database platform.

• Familiarity with database security and access models, including roles, least privilege, and auditing practices.

• Ability to produce clear written documentation and create easy-to-follow runbooks.

• Capability to work within client constraints and escalate issues rather than improvising when the scope is ambiguous.
