Data Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and uphold test plans, scripts, and cases throughout migration cycles, which encompass mock runs, SIT, UAT, and cutover activities.

• Conduct reconciliation checks between source and target systems based on mapping specifications.

• Create SQL queries to verify record counts, field values, and financial totals.

• Document, monitor, and resolve data defects utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps.

• Collaborate with engineers and ETL teams for root cause analysis and issue resolution.

• Execute regression testing to validate fixes and avert new issues.

• Review financial data for duplicates, missing values, incorrect mappings, and broken relationships.

• Ensure maintenance of test evidence, sign-offs, and defect logs.

• Communicate risks, blockers, and readiness for go/no-go decisions.

• Engage in go-live activities and post-migration assessments.

• Coordinate priorities and timelines with stakeholders based in the UK.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in crafting SQL queries for data extraction, joins, filtering, and aggregation.

• Experience in reconciliation, sampling, field-level comparisons, and count checks.

• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, TestRail, or similar platforms.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and various formulas.

• A solid understanding of ETL processes and data migration methodologies is highly advantageous.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of GL, Chart of Accounts, Trial Balance, AP/AR, and Fixed Assets.

• Experience with SAP, Oracle Financials, Workday Financials, or comparable ERP systems.

• Background in testing data for finance transformations, ERP implementations, or migration projects.

• A methodical mindset combined with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for defect reporting and stakeholder updates.

• Comfortable collaborating with UK-based stakeholders across different time zones.

• Capability to manage competing priorities during test cycles and cutover phases.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 1–4 years of experience in data testing/QA.

• Preferably experienced with offshore/onshore delivery models.
