Data Test Engineer – 3-6 Months Contract Role

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement test cases for ETL pipelines that transfer data to and from MongoDB and Azure data services.

• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic from source systems to Power BI dashboards.

• Create and manage automated testing frameworks for UI, API, and data layer evaluations.

• Construct MongoDB aggregation queries and SQL statements to confirm data integrity and reconciliation.

• Evaluate Power BI reports and dashboards for data accuracy, calculation logic, and refresh reliability.

• Assess Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure Functions, and associated data workflows.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Work in partnership with data engineers, BI developers, and product teams to establish testing strategies.

• Identify, document, and manage defects until resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with MongoDB, including aggregation pipelines, indexing, and query optimization.

• Familiarity with Azure data services such as Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, or Databricks.

• Background in testing Power BI reports, including the validation of DAX measures, data models, and visualizations.

• Proficient in at least one automation framework, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or PyTest.

• Programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.

• Experience in API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.

• Strong SQL abilities for cross-validation against relational data sources.
