This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis and validation of essential customer metrics across various data management systems to guarantee accuracy.
• Collaborate directly with processing and payables partners to identify and resolve data integrity challenges.
• Manage one-time customer-specific utility payables processes and liaise with internal departments.
• Lead, structure, and oversee data analysis to provide insights and support decision-making.
• Reports generated will include, but are not limited to, cost and consumption, marked-to-market, budgets, unit costs, savings trackers, supplier summaries, and missing invoices.
• Utilize technology to detect potential errors or anomalies and confirm data entry precision.
• As needed, develop rate models for detailed analysis.
• Assess the feasibility of transitioning to more advantageous utility rate schedules, pinpoint incentives, and identify opportunities to selectively accept or decline various charges.
• Implement and oversee daily/monthly nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other related activities concerning the purchase and sale of natural gas across various pipelines.
• Attain and apply a comprehensive understanding of pipeline and Local Distribution Company (LDC) transportation contracts, balancing provisions, and ensure timely nominations for natural gas movement based on contract entitlements, receipt and delivery points, and capacity to avoid overruns or unforeseen transportation charges.
• Monitor and interpret pipeline curtailments, maintenance activities, and other operational matters to enhance the efficiency and reliability of natural gas transportation.
• Engage with pipeline representatives as necessary and inform the Energy Advisor for the account regarding potential impacts and alternative solutions.
• Collaborate and communicate daily with suppliers, customers, and Energy Advisors about physical positions and the daily flow of natural gas.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required (preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Sustainability, or Engineering).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the energy market within any of the following: end-user organization in an energy-procurement role, energy utility, energy supplier, or energy consulting firm.
• Experience in consultancy or professional services is preferred.
• Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI), with the ability to conduct data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with either the North American energy power or natural gas markets, or both.
• Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
• Highly motivated to continuously enhance processes and tools.
• Results-driven project management and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret results, understand implications, and communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and respond to client requests while ensuring accuracy.
• Capable of balancing competing demands and priorities inherent to the role while working both independently and as part of a team.
