Data Scientist – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development of analytical, statistical, machine learning, and applied AI solutions tailored for business and client scenarios.

• Convert business inquiries into analytical methodologies, modeling techniques, hypotheses, features, evaluation strategies, and quantifiable results.

• Create and implement analyses and models for segmentation, forecasting, propensity modeling, anomaly detection, experimentation analysis, recommendation-focused analysis, and decision support.

• Analyze structured, semi-structured, and selected unstructured datasets to extract insights and formulate business-relevant solutions.

• Develop, enhance, and sustain notebook-based workflows and reproducible analytical assets within Databricks and cloud environments.

• Utilize machine learning and AI techniques for classification, scoring, summarization, pattern recognition, feature generation, and improving business processes.

• Assess and employ LLM-enabled or AI-assisted workflows.

• Engage in model training, tuning, validation, performance assessment, and comparative analysis.

• Record assumptions, methodologies, feature logic, model choices, evaluation standards, limitations, and findings.

• Collaborate with Data Analysts, AI Scientists, AI Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, and Architects.

• Enhance reproducibility, evaluation practices, documentation, and scalability of analytical workflows.

• Adhere to governance, privacy, and responsible data and AI usage standards.

• Articulate methodology, model logic, findings, limitations, and implications to client stakeholders.

• Implement approved AI-assisted workflows while preserving human accountability for validation, interpretation, and recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

• Extensive working knowledge of statistics, probability, machine learning, and analytical problem-solving techniques.

• Capability to independently manage ongoing data science projects and produce dependable results with minimal supervision.

• Profound understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation, error analysis, and framing analytical problems.

• Proficiency in working with structured, semi-structured, and select unstructured datasets.

• Familiarity with experimental design, model validation, and interpreting analytical and predictive results within business contexts.

• Knowledge of applied AI techniques, including LLM-enabled workflows, text analysis, and AI-assisted feature extraction or classification.

• Experience with notebook-based development and collaborative data science practices, particularly with Databricks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined validation of data, logic, methodologies, and outputs.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to collaborate across distributed teams in various locations, functions, time zones, and client environments.

• Proficiency in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, SciPy, Statsmodels, XGBoost, and LightGBM.

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, and MLflow.

• Knowledge of SQL, BigQuery, and Snowflake.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Microsoft Azure, Azure AI services, and Azure Machine Learning.

• Experience with OpenAI-compatible APIs or enterprise LLM platforms, prompt evaluation, embedding, text analysis, and processing unstructured data.

• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.

• Familiarity with version control tools like Git, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
