Data Scientist III – Financial Crimes Modeling

📋 Description

• Offers technical leadership throughout the Analytics function, potentially with an enterprise-wide scope.

• Brings extensive technical knowledge and expertise during client interactions to clarify complex data analysis topics.

• Develops, maintains, and improves the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering / Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) models/AI solutions to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

• Supports TD's global AML/CTF strategies, addresses emerging risks, and aligns with best practices in the industry.

• Collaborates closely with business owners to identify opportunities and acts as a champion for data science initiatives.

• Utilizes a diverse array of programming languages (such as Python) and techniques for data extraction and preparation, applying statistics and advanced analytics, combined with business insight to derive insights from large datasets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an advanced technical degree is preferred (e.g., mathematics, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science).

• A graduate degree is preferred, along with either progressive project work experience or over 5 years of relevant experience; higher educational qualifications and research tenure may be considered.

• Proficient in Python or a similar programming language, as well as SQL.

• Experience in Financial Crimes / Compliance Risk Analytics is advantageous.

• Background in optimizing, testing, and tuning AML/CTF solutions, especially transaction monitoring systems.

• Experience in developing, validating, and deploying machine learning models; familiarity with LLM-based solutions is a plus.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (such as Azure) and modern data stack tools is a plus.
