📋 Description

• Create statistical and machine learning models to assist professional soccer clubs in identifying undervalued players and potential recruitment targets.

• Utilize player tracking data to develop spatio-temporal models that measure player impact and skill.

• Construct metrics, analyses, and client-facing tools that aid soccer teams in their decision-making and model interpretation.

• Rigorously validate models and their outputs.

• Prepare clear technical reports for clients.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement models on cloud infrastructure and production systems.

• Review the code of fellow data scientists and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the team's efforts.

• Oversee the entire model lifecycle, from design and validation to deployment and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional or research experience in coding with R or Python for data science, statistics, or machine learning applications.

• Proficiency in SQL for constructing and querying structured datasets.

• Strong foundation in data science principles.

• Experience handling sports tracking data.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Direct experience with soccer data or soccer analytics is advantageous.

• A proven track record demonstrated through published research, blog posts, conference presentations, or public projects is a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud for training and deploying models is a bonus.

• Comfort with AI coding tools is beneficial.
