Data Scientist – Design and Development Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and execute vehicle routing and scheduling algorithms utilizing OR-Tools to create optimal field assignments.

• Develop clustering algorithms aimed at geographically grouping workloads to reduce travel time and costs.

• Implement constraint models (including capacity, time windows, skills, priorities, and survey rules) within the optimization framework.

• Integrate the optimizer with the Mojo control system APIs for job intake, execution, and results dissemination.

• Construct both batch and real-time optimization modes to facilitate scheduled and on-demand routing.

• Refactor optimizer components into modular, extensible strategy interfaces to accommodate new routing heuristics.

• Establish data preprocessing pipelines to standardize locations, distances, and travel matrices.

• Create automated test harnesses to validate the correctness of solutions against established datasets and constraints.

• Implement "solution quality" scoring metrics (including distance, balance, SLA adherence, and cost) to assess the effectiveness of routes.

• Develop regression benchmarks to compare the performance of new algorithms against baseline outputs.

• Incorporate parallel processing and scalability to manage large route sets and numerous agents.

• Instrument services with logging and metrics to monitor runtime, solver performance, and solution quality.

• Package optimizer services for CI/CD deployment with reproducible builds and environmental configurations.

• Document routing logic, constraints, integration points, and operational runbooks.

• Provide production support, tuning, and ongoing enhancement of optimization heuristics and performance.

• Must possess a Public Trust clearance - US Citizenship is required for eligibility.

• Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
