Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a team in creating analytical solutions tailored to customer requirements.

• Improve current analytical solutions to guarantee quality and efficiency.

• Aggregate data from various sources to establish a unified operational perspective.

• Choose and apply statistical analyses and scoring metrics to assess algorithm effectiveness.

• Generate training and test datasets from diverse sources to enhance algorithms.

• Execute data cleansing, validation, and other ETL processes.

• Create analytic reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify and incorporate data visualizations for analysis, presentations, and end-user UI needs.

• Conduct feature engineering, classifier optimization, event forecasting, and anomaly detection.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to clarify data science mission requirements.

• Develop documentation that details data science processes, outcomes, and methodologies.

• Select and implement machine learning algorithms to refine or compete with existing solutions.

• Research, develop, and maintain mission-oriented software applications, backend services, APIs, data workflows, and analytical capabilities.

• Enhance and maintain custom applications, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, contribute to code reviews and technical documentation, and provide reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.

• Work alongside software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders to create applications and data pipelines that support operational awareness and data-driven decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Current Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.

• Proficient in Python and libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and scipy.

• Experience in processing, cleaning, and analyzing time series and/or geospatial data.

• Strong statistical foundation in statistical testing, regression, and probability.

• Over 3 years of professional experience utilizing machine learning techniques on time series and/or geospatial data.

• More than 3 years of professional experience with databases/data file systems like PostgreSQL and HDFS.

• At least 3 years of professional experience with version control systems such as Git.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in time series event forecasting.

• Ability to comprehend and integrate new machine learning algorithms and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience in data science.

• Experience in scoring and evaluating algorithm performance.

• Skilled in data visualization of multi-source, multi-dimensional data and analytic results in real-time and during presentations.

• Experience in conducting model feasibility research and developing machine learning algorithms.

• Broad experience with various machine learning algorithms and methodologies.

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and the ability to communicate trends and potential effectively and confidently.

• Experience working in teams using Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Preferred: Master's degree.

• Preferred: Experience with deep learning technologies such as PyTorch, Keras, and TensorFlow.

• Preferred: Experience with radar data.

• Preferred: Experience with data correlation.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
